ROSE D’ANJOU

Layon reserve chateau

GRAPE VARIETY :


Grolleau.



SOIL :


Sand and alluvium. Some plots locates in the Côteaux du Layon appellation area, thus requiring earlier harvesting than other vineyards.



HOW THE VINEYARD IS WORKING :


Pruned well back (4 to 5 buds). De-budding to only leave fruit-bearing branches. Vines trained on wires to keep the foliage upright and well ventilated.



HARVESTING :


Early harvesting will enable to obtain grapes producing a highly fragrant, fresh rosé.



VINIFICATION :


The destalked grapes undergo a short; 18 hours maceration. After pressing, alcoholic fermentation at a constant 16°C lasts approximately six weeks before being stopped to balance the wine at 11° and a residual sugar content of 20 grams oer litre.



MATURING :


In underground tanks to avoid variations in temperature. Bottled in March/April./p>

LA SAMPLING NOTES :


Pale pink robe, this very fragrant, fruity and slightly sweet wine is reminiscent of fruit drops. This easy-to-drink wine is deal when hosting friends at any time of day, but also ideal with food in the summertime. Serve at 8-10°C.



PRESERVATION :


Wine to be drunk within the same year, to be able to appreciate all its fragrance.
